HELP WORKS, INC. RECIEVES $1.36 MILLION TO BUILD HOUSING FOR DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED

More about
HUD Section 811 Grants

The Board of Directors of the small, but energetic HELP Works, Inc. (formerly Osage County HELP Workshop), a nonprofit disabilities workshop was elated to learn that they had been awarded a grant from the US Department of HUD under the
Section 811 Housing for Persons with Disabilities to build 23 independent living apartments for developmentally disabled persons in their community.

This is the first grant application made by HELP to HUD for housing and Zerbel & Associates is proud to be a part of that effort by writing the grant application.

Grant funds will be used to construct 4 group homes on land leased from the Osage County Housing Authority in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, which will manage the property.  This is the first HUD supportive housing program to be constructed in Osage County and will be a major contribution to housing persons who need help coping with daily living skills.

The housing project will go hand-in-hand with other services HELP Works already provides to the developmentally disabled in the community such as sheltered employment workshops,  training, and recreational activities.

Construction is starting in September 2002.

We would like to help you be successful as well.
